A cracked screen or a phone that won't charge is annoying enough. Losing half a day to drive across town, find parking and sit in a waiting room makes it worse. That's why mobile phone repair in Ottawa is built differently at Fix Revolution: we pick up your device where you are, repair it, and bring it back. Here's exactly how it works, what to prepare, and what to expect.
What "mobile repair" actually means
Mobile repair simply means you don't come to us. We collect your phone, tablet, laptop, game console or drone from your home or office, take it to our workshop, repair it, and drop it back off. Nothing is sent out to a third party; the work is done by our own technicians, who have more than 10 years of experience.
It's the same repair you'd get at a counter, without the trip. That matters most when you work long hours, have kids at home, don't drive, or simply can't be without a computer for a whole afternoon.
How the process works, step by step
- Tell us what's wrong. Fill in the quote form or give us a call. Include the exact model (for example, the model name in your phone's settings) and a short description: cracked screen, not charging, no sound, won't turn on.
- Get a free quote. We'll confirm what the repair involves and whether parts are available. Quotes are free.
- Book a pickup. Choose a time and an address that suit you: home, office, or another spot in Ottawa or Gatineau.
- We collect the device. Hand it over with any notes about the problem. Remove your case if it's bulky, and keep your SIM card unless we tell you otherwise.
- We diagnose and repair. Diagnostics are free if you go ahead with the repair. If something unexpected turns up, we'll contact you before doing extra work.
- We drop it back off. You test it, and you pay at the time of service by cash, e-Transfer, debit or credit. There's no upfront payment.
How long does it take?
Most repairs are completed the same day. MacBooks usually take 1–2 business days because they involve more disassembly and testing. Parts availability can affect timing, especially for newer or less common models, so we'll tell you upfront if a part needs to be ordered.
If speed matters, read our guide to same-day phone repairs for practical ways to avoid delays.
What to do before we pick up your device
- Back up your data. Most repairs don't touch your files, but any repair carries some risk, and we're not responsible for data loss. Our guide to backing up before a repair covers iPhone, Android, iPad and laptops.
- Charge it if you can. If the device still powers on, a bit of charge helps us test it quickly.
- Write down the symptoms. When did it start? After a drop, a spill or an update? Small details speed up diagnosis.
- Mention liquid damage honestly. Liquid changes how we approach a repair, and repairs on liquid-damaged devices carry no warranty, so it's better to know from the start.
- Bring the charger for laptops and consoles. It helps us rule out a faulty adapter or cable.
What if it can't be fixed, or you decide not to?
Sometimes a device isn't worth repairing, or you simply change your mind after hearing the quote. In that case, a $29 diagnostic, pick-up and delivery fee applies, and your device comes back to you as it was. If you'd rather not keep a broken device at all, we also buy broken phones, tablets, laptops and consoles.
Is your repair covered afterwards?
Yes. Our repairs come with a 90-day warranty on parts and labour: if the original repair fails, we fix it free. The warranty doesn't cover new accidental, physical or liquid damage, misuse, or software-only problems.
